Report from Haiti – Saturday Video Log

I was awoken on Saturday at 5am by Steve Horrex from Haiti on my computer via a Skype call. I managed to record this call as a video Skype call. The quality is a little choppy but, hey, its a free internet video call. I’m not complaining! :) This is basically the second “Report from Haiti” from Amor Ministries as we follow Steve who is in Haiti for a week investigating Amor’s involvement in the rebuilding efforts there. This definitely a journey that is unfolding as we report it!

Amor Ministries sent Steve Horrex, V.P. of Global Expansion, to Haiti on Tuesday, March 16,2010 to investigate the situation there and to assess the need and opportunity for Amor to help with the rebuilding efforts.  Steve called me on Friday, March 19th, with his first call and report for this extremely important trip.  The audio clip below (press the right hand arrow button below Steve’s picture) is a live recording from Haiti with Steve calling me in San Diego.  He is using a computer link through Skype via a satellite internet connection that he secured at the facility he is staying in just outside Port o’ Prince, Haiti.

USC Athletes in Action Video

I took a brief two minute video of day two of the USC Athletes in Action team. “The one thing we realized in this process,” said group leader Jordan Congdon, “It’s not how well you do it the first time, it’s how well you can fix it and how well you finish it. That being said, this trip was an eye opening experience for all of us. Building a home in three days for three children to safely grow up in…I can barely express the words of satisfaction.”
